An Asbestos Analyst is a specialist in asbestos management, responsible for identifying and assessing asbestos-containing materials to ensure public and workplace safety. Whether out in the field conducting surveys or in the lab analyzing samples, they play a critical role in preventing asbestos exposure.

You’ll become a specialist in asbestos detection and management, working in labs and on-site to ensure the safe handling of hazardous materials. You’ll master asbestos surveying, air sampling, and bulk analysis, developing the skills to identify risks, uphold strict safety standards, and ensure full regulatory compliance.

From understanding the history and legal frameworks of asbestos to learning safe removal techniques, you’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading methods. You’ll learn to anticipate risks, troubleshoot challenges, and enforce airtight compliance in an industry where precision is everything.

Course Modules

Module 1
Professional Development and Study Skills

Apprentices will explore workplace behaviours and learn the importance of reflective practice. This module sets the foundation for their apprenticeship, helping them build self-awareness, professionalism, and continuous learning habits.

Module 2
Health & Safety in a Processing Environment

This module covers essential workplace safety regulations, including the Health and Safety at Work Act. Apprentices will learn how to assess risks, follow safety protocols, and maintain compliance in a high-risk environment.

Module 3
Asbestos Analyst

Master asbestos analysis and surveying, from its history to legal frameworks. Explore asbestos types, uses, and the risks they pose to health. Get hands-on with air sampling, bulk analysis, and safe removal methods. Develop the expertise to manage asbestos safely and ensure compliance.

Module 4
Process Operations, Maintenance and Calibration

Apprentices will develop hands-on skills in manufacturing processes, from start-up to shutdown. This includes process control, equipment maintenance, serviceability, and calibration, ensuring operational efficiency and product quality.

Module 5
Quality Procedures

This module explores internal and external quality requirements in a scientific workplace. Apprentices will understand how quality standards impact reliability and accuracy, ensuring compliance with industry regulations.

Module 6
Problem Solving and Solutions

Apprentices will develop problem-solving strategies and learn how to apply them in their workplace. They’ll also explore error reporting and its role in maintaining quality-centric processes.

Module 7
Improving Processes and Procedures

This module focuses on continuous improvement methods to boost efficiency. Apprentices will learn how to analyse workplace processes and implement changes that enhance productivity and service quality.

Module 8
Environmental Management

Apprentices will explore the environmental impact of their work and how to improve resource efficiency. This module covers sustainability strategies to reduce waste and ensure compliance with environmental regulations

Module 9
EPA Preparation

This final module prepares apprentices for their End Point Assessment. They’ll complete final training, review key concepts, and book their assessment date with the End Point Assessment Organisation.
