What is an asbestos analyst and surveyor?

Asbestos Analyst and Surveyors are the heartbeat when it comes to safety in the asbestos management industry. They ensure that air monitoring, clearance activities, site-based surveys and more are all completed safely and by adhering to regulatory requirements.

By applying recognised industry methodologies and strict compliance standards, they deliver accurate, defensible findings that protect people, property and the organisational reputation. This apprenticeship equips individuals with the technical competence, regulatory understanding and professional judgement required to succeed in this highly regulated and safety-critical profession.

What will I learn?

This apprenticeship is for those who don’t just want a job—they want to be at the forefront of asbestos safety. Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to advance your career, this programme will equip you with the expertise, precision, and resilience needed to thrive as an Asbestos Analyst.

You’ll become a specialist in asbestos detection and management, working in labs and on-site to ensure the safe handling of hazardous materials. You’ll master asbestos surveying, air sampling, and bulk analysis, developing the skills to identify risks, uphold strict safety standards, and ensure full regulatory compliance.

From understanding the history and legal frameworks of asbestos to learning safe removal techniques, you’ll gain hands-on experience with industry-leading methods. You’ll learn to anticipate risks, troubleshoot challenges, and enforce airtight compliance in an industry where precision is everything.

But it’s not just about technical expertise. You’ll develop the discipline, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills that define top asbestos analysts. You’ll learn to work under pressure, make critical decisions, and communicate effectively in high-stakes environments.

By the end of this apprenticeship, you won’t just be working in asbestos analysis—you’ll be leading the charge in protecting lives and ensuring safety.
