Darren oversees the compliance of Tiro’s apprenticeship programmes with the requirements of the Education & Skills Funding Agency, who serve as the funding body for apprenticeships in England. Working closely with all areas of the business, Darren supports the implementation of compliant ways of working whilst ensuring, as a former apprentice himself, that they don’t restrict Tiro’s ability to explore innovative ways of imparting knowledge to current and future apprentices.
In the sector since 2010, Darren has worked in a variety of roles ranging from intern, compliance manager across England and Scotland, short stints in sales and coaching as well as a spot of consultancy for the FE sector. Supporting business growth is a particular passion and Darren has spent around half of his career in start up organisations supporting scalability and growth.
Away from the office, Darren is married with two young girls who keep him busy. In the (limited) spare time he finds, you’ll often find him reading, watching sport, gaming or taking photographs.
