Owen Lamb embarked on his Level 3 Materials Testing Apprenticeship with AMS Testing, keen to develop his skills and gain hands-on industry experience. Throughout his apprenticeship, he not only excelled in his technical training but also demonstrated exceptional dedication and professionalism.
A Supportive Learning Journey
Reflecting on his experience, Owen highlighted how well-supported he felt throughout the apprenticeship:

Progression & Career Growth
Upon completion of his apprenticeship, Owen was promoted to a Quality and Health & Safety Engineering role at AMS Testing, where he now plays a key part in overseeing testing procedures and maintaining quality standards.
“The apprenticeship helped me build technical skills, but also improved my ability to manage projects, work as part of a team, and develop professionally. Now, I’m gaining experience in quality management and have opportunities to progress further.”
Advice for Future Apprentices
Owen encourages new apprentices to take every opportunity to learn:
“Keep track of everything you do – it all counts towards your experience. Logging your progress is key, and always be open to learning new things.”
Looking to the Future
With AMS Testing continuing to expand, Owen is excited about what’s ahead. He sees himself growing into a management role, helping to set up new labs and mentor future apprentices.
