I enjoy construction/engineering and I knew wanted to do an apprenticeship in those fields. I studied engineering for 2 years and achieved a triple distinction.

Tell us about you and your job role:

My job role is a Materials Technician, I am responsible for testing different materials – I really enjoy it.

What were you doing before the apprenticeship?

I was working at Tesco beforehand, however, I saw no future there so I didn’t want to stay for long.

What inspired you to start the apprenticeship? 

I enjoy construction/engineering and I knew wanted to do an apprenticeship in those fields. I studied engineering for 2 years and achieved a triple distinction.

What are your aspirations for the future and how will your apprenticeship help get you there? 

My aspirations are to be Quantity Surveyor or something along those lines. I think the knowledge I will gain from this apprenticeship will help me achieve that.

What do you enjoy about the apprenticeship? 

I enjoy learning new things that help me do my job.

What do your friends and family think about the apprenticeship? 

My friends and family think I have done well to get this apprenticeship and they are proud of me.

What advice would you give to other people thinking about starting an apprenticeship? 

Definitely go for it, you will have support behind you. And make sure you work hard when you have the time.
