I am a Lab Technician for Morgan Sindall and I carry out a series of both lab and site tests.

What were you doing before the apprenticeship e.g. school, last job etc:
My last job I was working as an apprentice in a letting agency.

Who or what inspired you to start the apprenticeship?
I was looking around to try and find a new job something I could start a career in and MS seemed like a very good company to be involved in.

What are your aspirations for the future & how will your apprenticeship help get you there?
I would like to develop myself in being the best lab technician I can be before progressing into higher roles within MS.

What did you enjoy about the apprenticeship?
I enjoy the steady progression that the role offers and the opportunity to branch out into other divisions.

What do your friends and family think about the apprenticeship?
They are unsure what it is I really do as it is a niche job however when I explain the potential they are pleased for me.

How would they say you have changed since you’ve been an apprentice?
They would say I have matured, the hours are demanding but it has put me into a solid routine.

What advice would you give to other people thinking about starting an apprenticeship?
I would say it is a good stepping stone and a good way to get into large companies.
