CPL Aromas, Northampton– Laboratory Technician (Level 3)

When? Monday – Friday- 37.5 hours per week

Where? Northampton

For how long? 21 months

How much? You’ll earn £15,000 a year, plus you will receive all the training and support you need to become a qualified Level 3 Laboratory Technician.

 

 

You’ll join CPL Aromas as an apprentice Laboratory Technician for a fixed period of 21 months.

 

 

To become a qualified Laboratory technician through the Level 3 Apprenticeship whilst carrying out testing for fragrances in a variety of product applications at CPL Aromas Research & Development Centre.

 

You’ll have the support of a mentor, a colleague whose job it is to keep an eye on your training and development in the role.

 

You’ll also devote about 20% of your time to working towards a Level [#] [Qualification]. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro, who will make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your apprenticeship.

 

More details:

  • Conducting stability test of fragrances and/or Raw Materials in a range of consumer products
  • Smelling samples for stability tests
  • Entering data on Intranet based system and excel
  • Keeping track of stability tests required on a day to day basis
  • Making formulations for Household and Personal Care applications
  • Carry out a variety of testing such as Panel tests, weight loss, titrations, UV tests as per protocols

  • Computer literate and skilled in using Office 365 (Word and Excel)
  • Good planning and organising skills

Qualities:

Qualifications:

  • 18+ due to insurance reasons
  • GCSE (or equivalent) grade C/4 in maths and English
  • A Level in science would be advantageous

 

What next?

Progression opportunities will be individualised and based on the performance of each employee. However, the CPL Aromas team are committed to investing in the talent and futures of their staff, with the view for them to grow with the company. Apprentices may expect to be offered a permanent position. Future training opportunities depending on the individual.

 

Once you’ve completed your apprenticeship, you may be offered a more permanent job with CPL Aromas. If not, your qualification will open doors elsewhere in a related field. Or you might decide to move on to a higher-level apprenticeship.
