We have an exciting opportunity for an Information Communications Technician to join our highly performing and experienced IT team. This is a dynamic and varied role with the opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge in all areas of IT.
As an Information Communications Technician apprentice, you will be based in Shenley Brook End School occasionally, required to spend some time at The Hazeley Academy too. In there, you will be working alongside our senior IT technicians, in delivering a high level of service to all stakeholders and ensuring all IT support requests are resolved in a timely manner.
Within this diverse and highly performing team, you will be responsible for the 1st Line Support in responding and allocating all IT requests received via the Helpdesk, assigning any urgent ones to senior IT team members. You will be responsible for resolving any low-level request such as room issues, user accounts, password changes, maintaining and repairing IT equipment, including audio visual ones.
In addition, you will be expected to support the team in the install, test, inspection and configuration of new IT equipment and to action all requirements for new staff members - badges, logins, door entry system, laptops, etc.

So how does the apprenticeship work?
Over 18 months, you’ll devote 20% of your time to working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship. You’ll be trained by an expert tutor from Tiro, who’ll make sure you develop the knowledge, skills, and work habits you’ll need to succeed in your apprenticeship. In the workplace, you’ll have a mentor who will support and guide you in your work-based learning.
Being an apprentice is hands-on, so you’ll get the chance to learn things you might otherwise not have experienced in a university or College environment.
Upon successful completion of the Level 3 Information Communications Technician apprenticeship, 5 Dimensions Trust could offer you a full-time, permanent opportunity within the IT department.
